Dear Friends,

First of all?a really BIG ?Thank You? to Cathy Wells, Walter Gordy and M/M J. B. Langston for their donations toward the neutering, spaying and shots for the 42 new animals ?dumped? at the Alabama shelter. Their combined donations enabled us to complete these procedures for almost one-third of these animals.

AND

Another just as big ?Thank You? to Cathy Wells and Betty Deadwyler for their donations designated for the purchase of flea control. Their combined donations bought enough Frontline to treat more than 75 percent of the animals at both locations?thanks to a supportive vet who let us buy it at his cost. Last year, the same donation total would have treated all of our animals?but the above-mentioned extra 42 made this a more expensive year.

Your ?special? donations, over and above your regular support, for both of the above are still urgently needed.

We have a very perplexing situation in regard to e-mails. As you know, we received a computer last month?and thought that would solve the problem of not being able to receive and answer your emails. Well, the computer works fine but we still are not able to receive emails. We are on our second ISP?and neither has been able to solve this. And, even worse, your emails are NOT being returned to you as ?undeliverable? so?of course?you assume they have been received. They have not?in fact, we have received no emails in more than three months. The ISP representatives say they are ?hung up? somewhere?and they can?t figure out where and how to release them. SO?the only two ways for you to send messages to us are to write to me at the Alabama address below or send a fax to my husband?s business?addressed to me, of course. The number is 334 705 0487. My apologies?..

PLEASE REMEMBER

We continue to need extra money to make the payments on the land, which are $1,500 EXTRA every month in 2005. These payments are, of course, over and above the normal costs of running the shelter. We urgently need your help with these?especially pledges specifically for this purpose. Donations for the land purchase and general expenses for the Alabama location should be sent to the following address. All money directed to help with Alabama expenses will be spent there?no matter where it is mailed:

Carolyn Keeton, 4907 23rd Boulevard, Valley AL 36854.

AN EXCITING NEW FUND RAISING OPPORTUNITY

We have registered with iSOLD It?, an organization which ?offers a completely innovative, extremely simply way to raise funds? for nonprofit organizations. As a nonprofit, we qualify for their discounted fundraising fee structure. Your part of this fund-raising is to drop by the nearest iSOLD It store with items, which they will sell on eBay. Be sure to specify ALL C.A.T.S., Inc. as the organization to receive the funds. As soon as the item/s sell, they will send us a check. Some of the stores that are presently open are listed at the end of this newsletter?many are opening soon. Please check www.i-soldit.com ?Store Locations? to find the nearest one to where you live.

? Sending us a check made out to Murrayville Veterinary Clinic for whatever amount you wish to contribute OR
? Sending a check made out to ALL C.A.T.S., Inc. indicating the donation is to be used for general veterinary expense.
? Send a check directly to Murrayville Veterinary Clinic, P.O. Box 406, Murrayville, GA 30564. Be sure to indicate that it is to be applied to the All C.A.T.S., Inc. account.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION

?Dog lovers in Britain have taken 2.7 million working days off to care for their sick pets over the last two years?Ten percent of owners missed five days of work, with half of these taking up to two weeks off to look after their pets. People in Britain are so concerned about their dogs? well being that 55 percent admitted they paid more attention to sick pets than an ill partner. Fifty-three percent of owners also said they bought their dogs a present if their pets were feeling under the weather.? From MSNBC Health Library, April 28, 2005.

?Police in Massachusetts have arrested an alleged dognapper who they say threatened to kill an 11-week-old puppy unless a ransom was paid. The dog?s owner says he left the keys and his dog inside his truck on his way into a convenience store. The truck was then stolen, along with ?Dakota,? a two-pound Pomeranian-Maltese mix. The owner says he called his cell phone inside the truck?and he says the thief answered. He says the man threatened to kill the dog if police got involved?and demanded a $500 ransom. The police did get involved?and they arrested the suspect after a struggle. The dog and truck have both been returned, and the owner says he won?t ever leave ?Dakota? along again??not even for 20 seconds.?? From MSNBC Health Library, April 27, 2005.

Carolyn Danese sent us the following information in an email dated May 10, 2005. ?In an effort to provide long-term funding for the Dog and Cat Sterilization, Governor Sonny Perdue signed House Bill 452 into law yesterday?Joined by Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin, HB 452 sponsor Dr. Gene Maddox, and Georgia Revenue Commissioner Bart Graham?.., Governor Perdue signed the legislation which will create a state income tax check off. The proceeds from this?.will benefit the Dog and Cat Sterilization Program. Beginning in tax year 2005, Georgians can donate $1.00 or more from their state income tax returns to help pay for spay/neuter surgeries through this important program.

?The Dog and Cat Sterilization Program provides subsidies to licensed and accredited veterinarians statewide. Unlike other spay/neuter programs, the DCSP has no income requirements. Any Georgia resident may benefit from the program. Interested residents should contact their local veterinarian to confirm program participation.?
