UPDATE NO. 2 - THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1
Sent: September 1, 2005
As of late this afternoon, our All CATS volunteers had rescued 47 dogs and 36 cats. We had been quite worried about being able to catch the very frightened cats. However, Carolyn's grandson, Anthony, reports that he sprinkled dry cat food on the flooring of the boat he was in and the cats jumped right in. So, all these animals are now in their temporary housing--with plenty of food and water.
On a separate note, we were delighted to read that, at least at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston, evacuees were allowed to keep their pets. A representative of that hotel said they are housing about 100 animals. She added she believes most hotels are relaxing their rules about animals in the rooms.
REMEMBER--Please call Carolyn at 334 319 1045 if you have questions, want to make a donation or want to help in any way. THANK YOU.
